As you open that tub which you just bought, a whift of sweet aroma of Pandan and Coconut goes through your senses. It is so inviting to have that alluring 1st bite. Your mind will start to be so curious to know how it tastes. Visually it is so inviting with the light green colour with tinge of brown specks at its tips. Behold as you look beneath it you are welcomed by the grated coconut soaked with Gula Melaka (Brown sugar).
With the 1st bite, your mouth gets that familiar signature texture of Warisan Recipe’s bahulu. It is definitely crispy externally and soft inside, however for this flavour it has the additional crispy bits of the grated coconut. You can so imagine eating the pandan sponge cake with crispy moments. The mixed of Gula Melaka with the grated coconut is never overpowering. You will be mistaken that this bahulu flavour will be too sweet. Surprisingly, it is the right combination for you to continue to finish the 1st one and get another piece.
All this is so close similar to an actual Onde-onde kuih minus the “explosion” of liquid Gula Melaka in your mouth. Do try to believe it.
